The red leopard female has found her home.

NikkiO January 13th, 2009

1baileys-1st-litter-002.jpgThe red leopard female puppy is sold and is no longer available.  I found the right home for her yesterday. She will be going to Ohio.  I would like to thank everyone who expressed interest in this litter and wish I could have accommodated everyone, but I simply don’t produce a lot of puppies her at Double Ott Catahoulas.  When concrete breeding plans are made I will post the information here.

Below are thumbnail pictures of this puppy.  Click the picture for a larger view.

ONE PUPPY LEFT

NikkiO January 8th, 2009

Well,  A disappointed gentleman from Washington State who had dibs on a puppy out of the Raptor’s Trash litter called me about an hour or so ago.  Evidently, he is snowed in and will not be able to make it out to get the puppy he wanted.  As a result, this puppy is again available.

baileys-1st-litter-4-wks-013a.jpg

It is a red leopard female with double glass eyes.  She has a white ring neck.  She has white socks and tan trim.  She is not the dominant puppy.  She is a good looking little gyp and moves really nice.   She will be 6 weeks old on January 10th, 2009.  $500

If you are interested in this pup let me know.  I am happy to answer any questions about this pup if you need more information.

Puppies from the Raptor’s Trash Litter

NikkiO January 8th, 2009

The puppies from the Raptor’s Trash litter have all been sold.  However, one puppy is still in a kind of limbo.  The gentleman who has dibs on the puppy seems to be snowed in in Washington State and may not be able to thaw out in time to get his chosen pup.  If he is unable to get this pup we will offer her to the next person on my list.

Here is a low down of the puppies out of this litter.

We thank everyone who inquired about this litter. And congratulate all the recipients of these puppies on their good looking pups.  We will be here for any questions to help you along on your Catahoula Adventure.  This breeding will be repeated next year if everything goes right.

Please keep us informed about the progress of your pups once you receive them.  We love to hear from you!

Raptor’s Trash litter are 3 weeks old.

NikkiO December 23rd, 2008

The puppies from the “Raptor’s Trash” litter are now 3 weeks old.  They have had their dew claws removed, and they have been wormed on schedule.  They all appear healthy and content.

I will be making my pick in the next week or so.  I know those of you who have contacted me about individual pups are waiting and I appreciate you patience.  Hopefully, I will be posting individual puppy pictures in the next day or so.

Raptor’s Trash male puppies both spoken for.

NikkiO December 6th, 2008

Both male puppies in the Raptor’s Trash litter have been spoken for.  When breeding Catahoulas or any animal for that matter it is impossible to predict the gender output of a litter.  I have spoken with a few, more than 2, people who were looking for males.  Unfortunately, the number of male puppies from this litter will not meet their demand.  The good news for people who are still looking a male off of Raptor is that he is scheduled for some upcoming breedings.  I will also post breedings of note by other breeders.  A good litter is a good litter regardless of if it’s from my kennel on not.

As far as the females, NO females have been spoken for.  I will be choosing the pick of the litter female out of this litter and I cannot promise any female until my choice has been made.  In the coming weeks my choices will be narrowed down and some females will come up for sale even before my final choice is made.  I will be honest as to why each puppy did not make the cut.

I would like to say that ss a breeder I am very serious about my breeding program, however, the wellbeing of the dogs are my first priority.  If anyone has a reason why they would be the ideal home for the remaining females, I am willing to consider it.

We got Puppies.

NikkiO December 5th, 2008

sd530484.JPGOn November 29, 2008 Abney’s Trash delivered 8 puppies.  The litter was sired by GRCH Double Ott’s Raptor.  Raptor is out GRCH Goose Creek’s Bayou Gypsy off of GRCH Lee’s El Nino.  Raptor is a Top Ten ranked Catahoula in UKC.  Trash is out of CH Dumar’sTwilight off of GRCH Abney’s King Augustus.  There are 2 males and 6 females.

I’ve gotten calls and have talked to a few people about this litter.  I will be taking pick of the litter and have one other definite buyer, however I do not have any other definite buyers so there are available puppies to the public.

Below is a picture that is an example of the typical puppy that Raptor produces.  Out of different bitches this is typically the normal of what his pups look like as for as structure.

I will be posting more pictures of the puppies from this litter as they become older and more photogenic and look less like rodents as newborn puppies tend to look in my opinion.

However, for those that would like to follow this litters progress, And want to see pictures NOW…I have created a Facebook group for them and have also decided to put them on my myspace page.

Abney’s Trash

NikkiO December 5th, 2008

trashsmall.jpgAbney’s Trash is called Bailey.  She is a solid bitch and good temperament.  She is out of Abney Catahoulas and is a nice compliment to our stock.  She lives on a small farm in north of Little Rock, Arkansas were she is kept by Christine Greene.

Bailey is farmed out to, well, a farm.  While she does live in Arkansas, she is indeed a part of our breeding program. By being “farmed out” Bailey is assured the best possible living environment.

CH Double Ott’s Big Man

NikkiO December 5th, 2008

_page_sections_img_thumb_48_.jpg

Big Man is a very large unproven stud. He weighs around 90lbs and has not been bred as of yet due to his size. He is of the same GRCH Goose Creek’s Bayou Gypsy/GRCH Lee’s El Nino cross as CH Double Ott’s Raptor and the reason we now choose to breed Gypsy to smaller dogs. He is a Treeing Champion for the American Catahoula Association. He has a very strong protective instinct and has strong drive for working cattle and hunting.

GRCH Double Ott’s Raptor

NikkiO December 5th, 2008

_page_sections_img_thumb_46_.jpg

Raptor is our up and coming stud. He is a UKC Conformation Champion and has 3 legs on his Grand Champion title. He has an athletic build and a gait that has been described as “gliding on ice.” His head, ear set, and top line is the result of an excellent cross between GRCH Goose Creek’s Bayou Gypsy and Lee Catahoulas’ GRCH Lee’s El Nino. He is a proven stud and has a natural hunting, tracking, and working drive. He has a social attitude and a wonderful temperament that has been commented upon on more than a few public occasions. He is tall and nicely put together and has a square head that is proportional to his body and passed these traits to his progeny along with his great temperament.

GRCH Goose Creek’s Bayou Gypsy

NikkiO December 5th, 2008

_page_sections_img_thumb_44_.jpgGypsy is the American Catahoula Association High Point Buckle winner for 2004, earning points from all American Catahoula Association events including conformation, obedience, treeing, and hog baying. She was the first female to earn this award. She is also a UKC conformation Champion and a ACA Conformation Grand Champion. She is also an Level one Obedience Champion for NALC and ACA. Gypsy is a large Catahoula bitch weighing around 75lbs and has a “layed back” social temperament. She has a rather masculine blocky head and body structure for a female, however, when bred to a smaller stud the results are favorable for a reasonably smaller product. She tends to produce ”flashy” colors which tend to do well in the show ring although this is not our main reason for breeding her. She has a naturally strong hunting drive and an excellent nose. Her puppies have a strong drive for hunting and tracking and are not recommended for the novice dog owner. Her bloodline is mostly all working stock and should be taken into consideration when one is contemplated on obtaining one of her puppies. If you don’t plan to properly socialize a Gypsy puppy, don’t ask for one. Note that all puppies regardless of breed need proper socialization at key developmental phases and is advised.
